Ocimum Basili

Basil is likely native to india and is widely grown as a kitchen herb.

Basil is a kind of herb that only grows in summer.

Basil is used in many foods likeItalian pesto sauce , garnish for Italian dishes. Salads

Basil is a popular herb, which some people use basil for medicinal purposes.

Line Art

This week I created some line art. 

The first line art I did was and dimond it was difficult when I first tried by I kept on moving on.

Next I did and eye line art. It was easy the first time I did it but when I did more of the eye design I kept on failing but I kept trying.

Last the did a star line art which was challenging for me but as I made more I got better and better.

This was difficult for me because I didn't know how to do line art that time

Planting Vegetables

Basil is an easy plant to grow.

Always have saftey gear before your doing the soil part because there is a bacteria called Legionella Longbeachae which will get you sick or die from it.

Materials

• mask
•  water
• gloves
•  seeds
• planting box
• soil or potting mix

Steps

     1. Make sure you have saftey gear.

    2. Get everthing you need for planting.

3. poke a hole in the soil to put your seed in.

4. Put it at the window so the sun makes it grow

Madlibs

My group and I did an activity called malilbs. We had to wirte down a: boys name, Brother, Cousin or Sister, Cry or Sob, A good feeling, and a clolur.

First we worte down a name that was Jack

Then we wrote down  pick a brother sister or a cousin and we picked a sister.

Next we had to write down pick a cry or a sob and we picked cry.

Then we wrote a good feeling which was happy.

Last we wrote down a colour and it was yellow.

My group used this app and name to make a story.

Madlilbs

Today I did and activity with LS1. We got into groups and we needed to put and animal, person's name,unit of time,adjective (not colour), city, adjective (not colour), and a type of clothing, colour.

First, we wrote a farm animal and the animal we picked was Rooster.

Next, we wrote a city and the city was New York.

Then, we wrote down a number between 1-20 and the number we pick was 15.

Then, we wrote an unit time and the unit time was 1 year.

Then, we wrote down two adjectives but not a colour. The two adjectives were Old and Clean.

After, we wrote down and person's name and it was Kylie.

Last, we wrote down a type of clothing and a tyoe of clothing was a pants.

I enjoyed this activity because we combine the words into a story.

Dancing Mat Typing

I completed a can-do that is called Dancing Mat Typing. It helps me to type a bit more fast with out looking down to my keyboard.

First I did leve 1 for dancing mat typing and did it for 15 minute.

Then I placed my hands on f,d,s,a,j,k,l,; and I wrote the word that showed on my screen and I had to type it as fast as I can not to fast a little bit fast.

Lastly I put my results on google slide. Then I wrote What I had to practise on more.

I need to practise on foucsing on typing a bit slow.

Basic Facts Boxes

I completed the subtraction speed demon challenge.

I score 100/100 my timer was 5 minutes and 55 second.

Next time I will try to beat 5 minutes and 55 second.

Steps Web

Today I did some step webs.

The first activity I did was the sentence builder. In this activity you have to put the right words to make a sentence.  

The next activity I did was the word search. For this activity you have to find the words that is on the right side and line it when you find the word. 

SSR Selfie

Today I read a fiction book called Letters for Mr James.

Then I read the whole page.

The book was about Mr James never gets any letters. The man at the shop told the banker poor Mr James never gets any letter so the banker told her childrens and the next day the kids write letters for Mr James.

I enjoyed reading this book because it about Mr James never gets any letters.

Persuasive speech Plan

I Did an persuasive speech

First I needed to pick a topic for my persuasive speech. My topic for my persuasive speech is why we should use less plastic. Then I wrote what my argument was and my argument is we should use less plastic because if we throw plastic bags or coffee cups in the ocean the sea animals will die.

Next I wrote my reasons why we should use less plastic.

Last I got my reasons from a website and linked it to my persuasive speech plan.

I enjoyed writing facts about why we should use less plastic.

Water Safety

LS1 and I Went to the Lagoon pools

First we did a line arm stroke. To do a line arm stroke you have to put your head in the front and your arms are in the middle of you. Then we moved on to the next activity.

Next we did an arm circle. An arm circle is when you are facing the bottom of the water and your hands are going above you well your swimming. The next activity we did was a dolphin dive

Lastly, we did a dolphin dive. To do a dolphin dive you have to have your arm together and straight and go underneath the water and slowly come up.

I enjoyed learning about swimming.

Brain Stoming

We brainstormed ideas for a speech.

First I brainstormed ideas for our speech. We watched two videos about persuasion text. Then we wrote our ideas in the table (chart).

Next I wrote 5 ideas about 3 different category . The 3 different category were yourself, the school, and the world.

Lastly we had to highlight the ideas that we know a lot and we don't know that much about. Green means that you know a lot about. Yellow means that you don't know that much about and red means that you don't know much about.

The experience was amazing because I brain stormed ideas to make a persuasion.

Balance

Today for PE we did balance. We used frisbee equipment to balance when trowing the frisbee. 

First we got into pairs and used the frisbee to throw to our partner.

Next I had to act like a dog to try to use the frisbee to balance while running  and jump so you can catch the frisbee.

Then I had to run and catch the frisbee and stopped into position and try to get the frisbee in the frisbee net.

Lastly we played a game called ultimate frisbee in groups. I use the same technique to play  ultimate frisbee.

I think I need more practice on throwing the frisbee  and balancing well throwing the frisbee.  

Balance

I learned how to balance by using tennis equipment.

The first activity we did was balancing the tennis ball on the tennis racket. 

Secornd we got in pairs and we bounce the ball up and down on the tennis racket.

 

Lastly, I ran and stopped were the net was. I got into position and then I hit the ball over the net softly.  

I found this activity kind of easy because we had to balance the ball by walking slow because if we walked fast the ball would move and we have to stop moving when the ball moves.

Cause & Effect introduction

Did you know that fireworks were made out of dye with charcoal and a fuse with a string at the end therefore the firework whenl ignited will explode with colour.

Did you know that Chocolate is made from roasted cocoa beans and sugar Because the cocoa beans taste bitter sugar will put the tasty flavor that adds sweetness to the chocolate When they are mixed together they form a liquid. When they are put in the fridge they set or harden in the shape that they are. For example a star shaped mold will produce star shaped chocolate

Main Ideas

This book is about why animals migrate. The reson why there need to migrate is because they need to move from a colder place to a warmer place.

Introduction

 A introduction can have a intresting question or a hook.

First Mr Ogilvie showed us a video about how to write a hook and what is a hook.
Next, we wrote an introduction and a hook about three different topics.

Do you know there are multiple celebrations of chocolate each year. To make chocolate you will need milk, butter, suger and cocoa beans this can cause the chocolate to taste sweet and a lit bit sour and better.

Did you know that fireworks originated in China around 2000 years ago? you will need a fuse and a stick and a string this cause the fire work to go up in the sky.

Next time I will write a better introduction and add more writing to my introduction.

3 Similar simple machiens

Did you know that there are 3 similar simple machines that help move heavy objects, which are pulley, screw, and wheel and axle.

Balancing

This week I was passing balls to my partner while balancing

First I had to try and catch the basketball while balancing on one leg without falling. I think that this was hard to do because we had to balance of our weak leg.

Seconed was the netball we had to do the same thing as the basketball but the netball part was we had to bounce the ball two time and then we throw the ball to the other person.

 

The third actvitiy was the rugby ball. For the ruby part we had to pass the ball facing the side. This was kind of easy because i had to go on my weak leg but I could catch the ball when it goes side to side.

Forth was the hokey equipment. We had to roll the ball to the other person then they roll it back to you but you have to swing the hokey stick so the ball can roll to the other person. 

Lastly was the frisbee. We had to do the same thing as hockey, but when we throw the frisbee our hips move diffrent direction. This challange was hard because we had to balance on one leg.
