This afternoon LS1 Room 5 went to the reserve and did an experiment. We needed to put our hands up when we heard the clapper. We made a long line beside the water. Ms Kirkpatrick was at one end. When she clapped the sound travelled down the line. We saw the clapper before we heard the sound because light travels faster then sound.
I am a Year 5 student at Panmure Bridge School, Auckland, New Zealand. My teachers are Mr Wong and Mr Ogilvie.

Poem - I Hear
I Hear
When I think of home.
I hear
my siblings fighting over clothes for no reason.
I hear my mum say “Come down to clean the house.”
My older sister saying, we are going to the shops.
I hear my dad playing basketball with my siblings.
My brother is laughing because he is watching a funny video.
I hear people playing loud music at their house.
I hear people banging on other people's doors.
I hear my mum saying it's time to go sleep for school.
And there in the quiet living room
As if it had never stopped
But only needed listening to
My grandpa snores so loud that the house shakes like an earthquake.
